After months of chatting in an online forum dedicated to the Space Vendetta franchise, a group of dedicated fangirls meets in person at a fandom convention in Philadelphia.
It all started with Jen in Confessions of a Fangirl, where we meet the group during her trip to the convention. But what these ladies didn't realize was that they were about to win the jackpot. Five lucky ladies find camaraderie and love at the Philadelphia Comic Convention. But will their fangirl hearts survive the feels?
INCLUDED NOVELLAS:
The Cosplayer
I love fandom conventions. The crowds, the cosplay! As a costume designer, it's my personal mission to carry a kit to support any cosplayers in desperate need of repairs. They call me The Cosplay Medic.
The first day on the floor with my fellow fangirls, a cosplayer comes around the corner dressed as the Forgotten Knight, my favorite character. I nearly die right on the spot. He's perfect. Flawless. Almost an exact twin of the character. If I didn't know better, I'd say it was Jason Hunt himself. But that's crazy.
Then I notice his costume is coming apart at the seams. I offer to fix it and hand him my card. He obliges, and in return, he poses with me for a picture. Posted it on Instagram the moment he walked away. *swoon*
Later that night, my Instagram blows up. It was Jason Hunt! Now an unknown number is texting me asking me to fix it. Cue the panic!
The Artist
I don't do crowds or relationships. This is my first convention, and while I'm excited to finally meet my fellow fangirls, I'm already regretting such a huge commitment. My anxiety is through the roof, but I'm determined to see it through.
When Ronnie and I wander toward the vendor area, I trip over my own feet and nearly tumble down the escalator. My life flashes before my eyes just as a pair of strong arms wrap around me, pulling me back from the brink of disaster. My rescuer—Daredevil.
Well, a man cosplaying as him at least. I'm so flustered, I don't catch his name before he vanishes into the crowd. Later, I stumble into him again at a vendor's booth without his mask and realize he shares a core trait with the masked vigilante. He's blind.
As he shows me his art, I realize two things. He's an amazing artist, and I'm dangerously close to breaking my rule. No relationships. I can't risk the pain again.
The Bodyguard
I make people uncomfortable. My big mouth has gotten me in trouble more than once, and this comic convention proves to be no different. When I go through security, I get the grumpiest guard on duty—never mind the fact that he's the hottest man I've ever seen.
He immediately becomes the villain of my fantasies. I hate him, and it's obvious he's no fan of mine either. Every time we cross paths, sparks fly. But the shit hits the fan when I accidentally cause an incident, punch said guard in the face, and get kicked out of the convention.
Regret gives way to determination when I sign up for self-defense classes with a personal trainer. I refuse to be vulnerable again. But when I walk into the gym, I can't believe my luck.
My new trainer is the bodyguard who got me kicked out of the convention. Anger and attraction make for some spectacular fireworks, but someone is bound to get burned.
The Director
I call out director John Martigan in front of hundreds of fans—and the author of the books he butchered. What is supposed to be an innocent question during the Space Vendetta panel at Philly Comic Convention turns into an international fandom incident. Whoops.
Being led out of the panel by security isn't my finest moment. But when they drag me into a windowless room and leave me there, I panic.
Then Martigan waltzes in and puts me on the spot.
He is Hollywood's hottest director. Literally. Barely forty years old, he's been named the hottest celebrity bachelor twice and has been at the top of his game for the past decade. I've had a crush on him from day one, but he doesn't need to know that.
When he makes me an enticing offer instead of having me banned from all fandom conventions until the end of time, I hesitate. There's always a catch, and I certainly won't let him take advantage of me—even if part of me wants him to.
The Author
I'm obsessed with the Space Vendetta series—every movie, every book, every piece of fan fiction I can get my hands on. So when I found out the elusive, ridiculously hot author, Michael DeHart, is signing books at Philly Comic Convention, there's no way I'm missing it.
Meeting him is everything I've ever dreamed of…until I mention a certain fan fiction writer and watch him turn pale. Weird. But he still gives me his number and promises to read one of my stories, so who cares, right?
Then a new fic update drops that night. A chapter with a detail so specific it could only have come from me—or him. Now I know his secret. And the complicated line between fangirl and forbidden romance is about to get very blurry.
